About me Kai


     Hi, my name is Kai I'm currently enrolled in LBCC and OSU and seeking my bachelors of science in the business field. Im not really sure what I want to do with my degree yet but right now I'm leaning towards the Human Resources aspect of it. Before the pandemic hit I was a floor staff at the local movie theatre but since closing I now deliver pizza for dominos. I enrolled in this course in hopes to increase my knowledge of the business field as well as complete my associates at LBCC. I am a business major and hope to get my bachelors of science through Oregon State which I will be going to next year. In marketing I like the people side of the transactions such as deciding what coffee shop you go to every morning based on the experience you get or the product you need, I like the idea of being able to grab more customers by improving the store/company in different ways. Outside of college I am really passionate about movies. Whether going to watch them or making short films with my friends videography has always been a big passion of mine. I also play basketball on my free time as well as a variety of other sports. Another interest of mine is traveling, I was born in California then lived in Australia, Virginia, Washington, Hawaii, and now Oregon. Thanks for reading, below is a picture of me and a wombat.

For my blog post I chose to write about Regal Cinemas which is the movie theatre I used to work at before it was shut down due to the pandemic. Ive done a couple of promotional campaigns for them when I worked there as a floor staff such as promoting fliers, upsetting, and getting customers a great movie theatre experience and I wanted to dive deeper into their marketing. I analyzed an article by the Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2021/03/19/cinemark-pandemic-reopening-future/ which discussed some of the precautions the chain is making as new locations are opening up around the country. One takeaway from the article is that I did not know that many Americans go to the movies. During the pandemic when theatre opened for the short amount of time they did around 54% of Americans didn't go and according to the article that number is usually below 25% which makes sense why they closed. Wendys on Social Media      For my blog post on Social Media marketing I chose to talk about how Wendys is approaching the advertising game on social media. Wendys has got to be the most interesting company on social media at the moment because they choose to interact with customers in funny, sometimes rude ways to get themselves trending and in result more people seeing their brand. They will attack other companies often times "roasting" them on their food getting other twitter users to retweet because they find it funny and want that content on their page. This is really interesting to me because from what ive seen this is a very fresh take on social media marketing as most companies advertise with photos or new products Wendys chooses to be funny.
